Rocky Mountain

Spring, Summer & Autumn at Chalet Rocky Mountain Chamonix Valley – Mont Blanc

The Chamonix Valley is a fantastic summer holiday destination for all ages with a huge variety of things to do in an area of outstanding natural beauty. It is the Alpine climbing and mountaineering centre of Europe and has some of the most stunning scenery you will see anywhere in the World.

Our chalet is in Les Houches, a traditional alpine village that combines tourism and a rural community at the entrance to the spectacular Chamonix Valley. It is truly fantastic location with a perfect backdrop of jagged peaks and bright white mountains as far as the eye can see and you can’t beat hearing the sound of cowbells ringing out from the lush green meadows on a warm sunny day!

The bustling town of Chamonix with Mont Blanc glistening and towering above has a vibrant centre with numerous street cafés, bars, restaurants, superb clothes and outdoor equipment shops, pâtisseries and chocolatiers. There are also several local markets in both Les Houches and Chamonix selling delicious mountain hams, cheeses, honey, fruit and vegetables.

The chalet is located just above Les Houches village centre and is only a 5 minute walk to the local shops, bars and the excellent ‘Delice’ restaurant. The Chamonix bus also stops here, which connects Les Houches to all the other villages in the Chamonix Valley.

Chalet Overview

Rocky Mountain is a lovely natural looking chalet that has been lovingly created using recycled timber, Australian hardwood and sun bleached driftwood, natural materials that give it a unique rustic character. It really looks like it belongs in amongst all the trees that surround it. We have used original hand crafted furnishings from all over the world to complement the design of the chalet, creating a tasteful and homely place to stay. There are lots of comfy sofas and cushions in the living room to relax on and there two open fires and underfloor heating to keep you snug in the colder months. As the living room is separate from the dining room, you have two large rooms to socialise in.

The open plan kitchen is fully equipped for preparing and sharing the most delicious dinners. The chalet has a huge deck, partly covered, leading off the living room, with a BBQ, picnic table and beautiful views of the mont blanc mountain range. Just next to the deck you can relax in the lovely little hot tub, seemingly set amongst the alpine woodland.

All in all, a very comfortable chalet but not too ‘precious’ so an ideal place for families and large groups of friends. If you are looking for a ‘one off’ chalet where you can feel totally relaxed, look no further!
